Hansi Flick keeps adjusting the details of his new project at Barça. Despite the signings already confirmed, he isn't satisfied with what he has. The coach wants to have everything under control from the start of preseason.
Under his guidance, Marcus Rashford, Roony Bardghji, and Joan García have arrived. All of them will cover key positions within the system Flick is preparing. Meanwhile, Pau Víctor and Pablo Torre will leave, as they weren't part of his plans.
Flick adjusts his project at Barça
Now, the focus is on the right-back position, an area that still raises doubts. Last season, Jules Koundé was the undisputed starter in that role. Looking ahead to the new campaign, he will continue fulfilling that function for Flick.

The substitute from the bench will be Eric García, who has convinced the German coach. His defensive performance and maturity have earned him that trust. This decision leaves out one of the academy's greatest prospects.
Barça's right-back position already has an owner
This is Héctor Fort, one of the most promising talents who emerged under Xavi Hernández's leadership. At the time, he was considered a real option to establish himself as an alternative in defense. However, Flick doesn't see a place for him either as a starter or as a substitute.

For that reason, his departure seems inevitable in the coming weeks. Several teams have shown interest in securing his services for this season. From the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain, they have already inquired about his contractual situation.
Héctor Fort close to leaving: Barça won't accept less than €8 million
PSV, Girona, Valencia, and Como have made inquiries about signing him. In fact, Como even offered €8 million for the young defender. However, that proposal was immediately rejected by Barça.
Flick believes that if he eventually leaves, it should be for a higher amount. He trusts his potential will increase his value over time. That's why no offer below that minimum threshold will be accepted.

As of today, Héctor Fort continues training with the group while waiting for updates. Every day it seems clearer that his future will be far from Camp Nou. Only a convincing offer would change the current plan designed by the German coach.
Fort's future is in the hands of the market and the performance he can show if he is eventually loaned or transferred. Meanwhile, Flick will keep making firm decisions. In this case, he has made it clear that not all academy players have a place, nor will all of them leave at a bargain price.
