PSG Could be Expelled from the Champions
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi should take the matter seriously. If he doesn't pay what he owes, UEFA could leave PSG out of the Champions for being a defaulter.
Mbappé has endured Al-Khelaïfi's teasing out of respect for the Parisian club. However, he's had enough. If he takes the matter to UEFA, he knows that PSG could be excluded from the Champions League.
UEFA doesn't allow clubs with debts to their workers in its competitions. The amount Mbappé is claiming amounts to 55.4 million euros and corresponds to the transfer bonus agreed with the club.
PSG Has a Deadline to Pay
The French LFP Legal Committee and the Ligue 1 Joint Appeals Committee are on his side, according to OK Diario.
The deadline to pay the owed amount is January 15. If by then PSG hasn't deposited the money into Mbappé's account, the consequences for the Parisian club could be dire.
PSG risks losing its license to participate in the Champions League. Mbappé was always up to date with his payments from PSG. However, as soon as Al-Khelaïfi learned of his decision to sign with Real Madrid, he halted the last pending payment.
Al-Khelaïfi claims the player verbally agreed to forfeit that amount if he eventually left the Parisian club. Nothing was ever signed to that effect, however.
Mbappé's Mental Issues
Mbappé wishes to break the last ties that keep him connected to PSG to focus exclusively on Real Madrid.
In recent months, there has been talk of mental issues that could be affecting the French international and might be related to the amounts PSG still owes him.
