Surprise at Barça: Araújo to Leave after the Super Cup and Flick Gives the OK

Barça accepts the offer and the player also agrees to move to a major European club

The news was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, right after Ronald Araújo successfully reappeared in Barbastro.

Juventus had been demanding reinforcements from Barça for weeks. They are in fifth position, 12 points behind the leader Napoli in the standings.

Juve's Coach Has a Past in Barcelona

The Transalpine club maintains good relations with Laporta. It also takes advantage of coach Thiago Motta's past in Barcelona to strengthen the team with players from Barça.

Motta doesn't count on Danilo for the center of the defense and suffers two significant injuries: Bremer and Cabal. He has requested Hancko and Araújo to replace them.

Araújo Reappeared against Barbastro

The same source reports that Cristiano Giuntoli, the Juventus sporting director, is working to incorporate the two requests from his coach immediately.

Juventus will have to play six matches in the next 19 days and Motta can't guarantee success with the current defense. Juve will exhaust its slim chances in the scudetto and its luck in the Champions League during these days.

The agreement with Barça could be easy. Although Araújo played the full 90 minutes in Barbastro, it was his first match. Besides, Flick is already satisfied with Cubarsí and Íñigo Martínez.

Flick Blesses the Operation

The German coach has given his approval to an operation that benefits all three parties.

The Turin club, which is experiencing financial problems similar to Barça's, can't think of buying Araújo. What they've requested is his loan until the end of the season. This way, Barça would also benefit from the Uruguayan center-back's readiness.

Araújo Gives the OK

Araújo likes the idea. It's not about leaving Barça but playing for another big European team, getting the minutes he won't have in Barcelona.

On the other hand, the fact that Araújo can play regularly will increase his valuation for a possible sale this summer.

Additionally, Barça would save half of Araújo's salary. Juventus would cover four of the eight million he earns.
