A Barça Star Reveals: 'I'm More Anti-Madridist Than Culer' and She's Not the Only One

He is an international player and shares the national team with players from Real Madrid, but he has confessed his feelings on TV.

Cata Coll is the goalkeeper for Barça, champions of everything, and the Spanish national team. If she's not the best goalkeeper in the world, she's among the top three.

"Real Madrid Makes Me Very Angry"

She recently participated in a program on Balearic public television, Pim, pam, Llum. In a relaxed setting, she was asked: "What makes you angrier, Real Madrid or being called Cata Col?"

"I don't like being called Cata Col because it sounds like Cholesterol." She added: "Real Madrid makes me very angry, I think I'm more anti-Madridist than a Culer".

She then recalled the classic with Espanyol of unfortunate memory. Coll admitted that  "I got angry because they threw a beer can at me."

It's evident that the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barça players is of an intensity that doesn't reach men's soccer. They are probably more committed than the men to the badge they defend.

What Barça Players Dislike About Real Madrid

At Barça, it bothers them that every year Madrid launches the narrative that the gap between the two teams is closing. The reply is always the same: a thrashing of the whites. 16 total Clásicos and 16 victories for Barça, practically all by a landslide.

It also bothers Barça that Real Madrid players resort to violence when they see Barça players in front of them, especially Olga Carmona, a national team colleague.

Claudia Pina, the Other Anti-Madridist

They have also taken note of the Madrid forward Athenea del Castillo, who once said that "I would never sign for Barça". Someone should tell her that "before signing for Barça, you first need to have the level to play there". This is the reply heard in the Barça locker room.

Cata Coll is not the only player who has publicly expressed her dislike for Real Madrid. Her teammate Claudia Pina is another who comes out especially motivated against the whites. If she can score six goals, she won't settle for five.

Many others think the same, although they don't admit it publicly.
