From Barça to Everton! Fabrizio Romano Confirms It: Lamine Loses His Best Friend

Everton completes a strategic signing that has surprised Barcelona and represents a 180º turn in the market

FC Barcelona hasn't stopped planning its squad for next season. So far, it has made three signings and, apparently, plans to stop there. Where Deco is trying to speed things up is in the departures section, which is gradually helping to free up spots in the squad and bring down the wage bill.

There have been multiple names on Barça's table to try to further improve the squad. However, not everyone can fit in and some have to choose other destinations. It's not easy to secure a spot in one of the best clubs in the world... This is something that multiple footballers interested in playing at Camp Nou are noticing.

Everton signs a former La Masia player

One of them is a close friend of Lamine Yamal, who a few years ago chose to leave La Masia to continue his career at another European club. Specifically, we're talking about Adam Aznou, a Spanish-Moroccan left-back who has been part of Bayern since leaving the culer academy.

But the truth is that Adam Aznou won't stay much longer in Munich. Fabrizio Romano surprised everyone on his X account, announcing that the young left-back trained at La Masia will now play for Everton. He spent the last half of last season on loan at Valladolid, where he didn't have many opportunities in a team that spent most of the time relegated.

Now, with no place at Bayern, Adam Aznou has decided to pack his bags. He'll do so to play in the Premier League, where Everton has offered him an important role in its team. In total, the transfer has been closed at €9 million ($9.7 million) plus another €3 million ($3.2 million) in add-ons. Barça will see little of this amount, just a tiny percentage for Aznou's training rights.

Adam Aznou: a long road ahead

Adam Aznou has been on FC Barcelona's radar as a possible reinforcement for the left-back position, but at no point did it seriously pursue his return. At 19 years old, he has already been capped by Morocco and is expected to have a great future ahead. To be fair, he hasn't lived up to the expectations Bayern had when it took him from La Masia in 2014.

Now, Adam Aznou will have the chance to keep growing in a context that's probably more beneficial for bringing out his best version. Lamine Yamal has already learned about his best friend's new destination and couldn't be happier, although he would've liked his return to FC Barcelona. That's something that, at the very least, will have to wait if it ever happens...
