The Sevilla-Barça Was Controversial. Not because the result was close. The 1-4 (1-3 with 11 and 0-1 with 10) explains that Barça can handle everything and everyone, including the referees.
If the videos from Real Madrid TV and Florentino Pérez's letter aimed to influence the referees to make the league easier for the white team, they have succeeded. The strategy has been a success.
The Difference Between Real Madrid and Barça. Between Ceballos and Fermín
We saw it in Seville last night. The white propaganda focuses on an alleged penalty by Koundé to question Barça's victory. Nothing new.
But they have shown little interest in denouncing how the VAR misled referee Hernández Hernández to send off Fermín.
Nothing to do with what was seen at Bernabéu during the Madrid classic. Ceballos tackled an Atlético player with unusual violence that could have sent him to the hospital and ended his career.
Fermín saw red and Ceballos continued on the field as if nothing happened. Keep going, keep going...
Fermín Cleanly Takes the Ball
This is the image used by El Chiringuito to explain Fermín's expulsion at Sánchez Pizjuán. It's the same image that the VAR showed referee Hernández Hernández to trick him.
The other image shows what really happened in Seville: Fermín cleanly takes the ball without contacting Dijbril Sow. Sow falls over him, and they collide, entangling their legs in a subsequent play.
The image doesn't allow for interpretations. But the referee didn't see that. Real Madrid's letter is starting to take effect, and the referees show signs of weakness under the pressure and harassment they receive.
Their decisions are scrutinized, and, in case of doubt, as we know, don't upset Florentino Pérez.
The League That Hernández Hernández Took from Barça
In any case, Hernández Hernández is not suspicious. He is the same referee who, in January 2017, during the Negreira era, snatched a league from Barça to gift it to Real Madrid.
Barça was playing at Betis's field, Luis Suárez sent a ball to goal, and it went a yard (1 meter) inside the goal before an Andalusian defender cleared it. Since there was no VAR and what counted was the referee's decision, the goal was not validated.
And this referee, the one last night in Seville, Real Madrid TV considers him anti-Madridist.
Now we have VAR, but it's of little use if from there the intention is to confuse the referee by depriving him of essential shots to judge.
The Conversation with the VAR
Hernández Hernández recorded in the report the reason why Fermín was sent off: "For making a tackle against an opponent in a contest for the ball using excessive force".
From the VAR, Del Cerro Grande already took care of putting the referee in a situation to decide what was most convenient. And based on confusing images, without the angle that confirms Fermín cleanly took the ball.
This was the conversation of the referee with the VAR: "Alejandro, I recommend a review for potential serious foul play".
Alejandro Hernández Hernández went to see the image, but the image chosen by the VAR, which didn't offer him other options:
"I'm going to leave it in dynamic for you to see how he makes the tackle and how he goes with the high leg and it bends.
"In Our Opinion..."
And the speed he carries. When you're at the screen, I'll leave it for you, you handle it". Once he reaches the monitor, Del Cerro tells him: "in our opinion, the leg gets trapped and twists dangerously for the Sevilla player"
And the referee responds: "Stop it at that moment when his ankle twists. Yes, with both legs in scissor form. He goes in very strong, body out of control.
That's dangerous, perfect". Yes, perfect to calm Real Madrid TV.
And he reacts satisfied: "I'm going to change the yellow for number 16 to a red. Let's go".
