Farewell to Real Madrid? Florentino Convinced This Player but Barça is Lurking Around

Florentino was expecting him at the Bernabéu this summer, but Deco could change his mind.

If there's one thing that is taken as given in the transfer market, that's  Alphonso Davies and Alexander-Arnold's arrival to Real Madrid. It will be this summer and at zero cost.

A full-back for each wing. Ancelotti is positive about this and Florentino has everything tied up and ready, although recent reports seem to question this assumption.

Alexander-Arnold's Future is Not So Clear

Alexander-Arnold's future is not as clear as it seems. The only thing that is certain is that he is leaving Anfield next summer. But the final destination is not yet confirmed.

A report from El Nacional points to Barça and claims that Deco has a plan to snatch the English international away from Real Madrid.

This source claims that, although Alexander-Arnold will be reunited with his friend Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid, he is at a disadvantage in the competition with Dani Carvajal. Therefore, it's claimed that his immediate future, if dressing in white, is aimed at the bench.

And Deco would've used this trump card to convince the player that nowhere else would he be better off than at Barça. In addition, he would be guaranteed a starting place as right back.

Deco plans to sell Ronald Araújo to relocate Koundé to the center-back position. That's where he feels most comfortable, thus forming a reliable duo with Cubarsí.

And that's where Alexander-Arnold would come in, occupying the position left vacant by the French international.

Deco has Already Done His Job

Alexander-Arnold is also a fan of Barça's style of play. He was a fan as a child, during Pep Guardiola's era, so Hansi Flick's system fits him like a glove.

Deco has made it easy for Alexander-Arnold to rule out Real Madrid. He has also explained the club's financial situation to him. And that all the problems will disappear with the return to Camp Nou and the transfer of the new contract with Nike.

The Barça sporting director has already done his job and has filled the English international with hesitation. Now it will be up to him to decide which of the two giants of world soccer he will go for.

Gary Lineker has already told him not to think twice and to choose Barça. Any help is good for Deco's negotiations.
