Fabrizio Romano announces it! Aston Villa calls Barça, and it's not about Ferran Torres.

The English club gives up on Ferran Torres, but is interested in another Barcelona player: surprise call

FC Barcelona will start a new LaLiga season in the coming hours, but it still has matters to solve. Initially, the signings section has been considered closed with a few weeks left before the summer transfer window ends. However, Hansi Flick believes the squad is too large at the moment and has requested some departures.

Given the current situation, several clubs in Europe are contacting Barça to inquire about its "outcasts." The latest to do so has been Aston Villa, which throughout the summer has been linked to Ferran Torres. Although the interest has been firm and very strong, the Valencian forward has always been opposed to leaving Spotify Camp Nou.

New target, confirmed by Fabrizio Romano

The latest information revealed by Fabrizio Romano on his X account has been surprising. Although Aston Villa has closely followed Ferran, it seems it has changed its target in Barcelona. In this case, it has decided to go after a clear outcast of Hansi Flick: Héctor Fort.

Héctor Fort has no place in Barça's squad and has attracted interest from half of Europe. What the English club has done is personally call the Catalan side to be informed about the conditions for the academy player's departure.  There have been the first "initial talks," with the idea of reaching an agreement  for the Catalan's exit, who is highly regarded by the duo of Emery and Monchi.

He has no place in Barça

At 19 years old, Héctor Fort knows the time has come to leave Barça. He has no spot at right back, where Jules Koundé and Eric García stand out. He is too young to spend another season on the bench and needs to leave.

It's not just Aston Villa that wants him. Several clubs in Spain, including Mallorca, have called to express interest in Fort. Also, the newly promoted Ligue 1 side owned by Red Bull, Paris FC.

In any case, the conditions Barça is setting to finalize Héctor Fort's departure are very clear. "Madrid-Barcelona" has learned that it is advocating for a transfer of about €8-10 million, keeping 50% of a future sale and having the option to buy him back in the future.

Although the defender doesn't currently fit into Hansi Flick's plans, it is believed that  he has great potential and they do not want to lose track of him.
