Aitana Bonmati and Her 10 Friends Give Barça a Very Special Gift: A New Leverage

Eleven Barça footballers shine with the national team on a key day for Spanish soccer and also for its club

This Sunday, the Spanish Women's National Team has a unique opportunity: to win its first major European Championship. The opponent is none other than England, a final with a taste of revenge and glory.

They had never gone this far before, they had never beaten Germany before. They did it the other day, they did it with personality, and today they can complete the treble: World Cup, Nations League... and European Championship. It's much more than a match, it's history.

11 Barça players: the soul of this team

The backbone of this team is blaugrana. No fewer than eleven FC Barcelona players have been key in this magical journey. They are:
Cata Coll, Ona Batlle, Irene Paredes, Laia Aleixandri, Jana Fernández, Patri Guijarro, Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, Vicky López, Claudia Pina, and Salma Paralluelo.

All of them have contributed talent, commitment, and goals, and all of them have kept Barça very present in this 2025 European Championship. With their performance, they're not only aiming to lift the trophy. They're also generating a real economic impact for their clubs, and especially for Barça.

A lever in the form of talent

UEFA has increased compensation to clubs. Each player brings in €985 per day of release, from the training camp until the end of the tournament.

Just for participating, a club can earn up to €36,445 per player if its national team reaches the final, and Barça has 11. The result: more than half a million euros directly into the club's coffers.

An unexpected, silent, but extremely valuable lever. This income is added to the €1.21 million that Barça already earned in the Women's Champions League; the section contributes, and a lot. In fact, if they hadn't lost to Arsenal, they would have added €150,000 more, all with a model based on youth development, stability, and excellence.

The women's European Championship: a tournament that already moves millions

The growth of women's soccer is not only athletic, it's also economic. The 2025 European Championship has already surpassed 550,000 tickets sold and could break the 2022 record. It's estimated that it will bring in more than €200 million in Switzerland.

Benefits to clubs have also increased: from €4.5 million in 2022 to €6 million in 2025. A 33% increase that recognizes the importance of youth development teams. Meanwhile, Barça is the one that contributes the most.

More than soccer

These players are transforming the sport, they're doing it with titles, yes, but also with vision, professionalism, and strength. Today they have the opportunity to change the history of the national team... and also to keep driving the growth of their clubs.

Barça, without lifting a finger, receives a very special gift.
Thanks to Aitana and her ten friends, a new lever arrives: the lever of talent, and it's golden.
