No Madridists on the national team roster: De la Fuente puts a cross on Asensio

Only Dean Huijsen, who still hasn't worn Real Madrid's jersey, is listed among those drafted by De la Fuente

Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente has announced the squad list, with no Madridists, to participate in the Nations League Final Four.

Spain will face Mbappé's France in the semifinals in Stuttgart next June 5. If they beat the French, La Roja would face Germany or Portugal in the final at Allianz Arena in Munich on Sunday the 8th.

without Asencio and with Isco

The list doesn't include any Real Madrid footballers. With captain Dani Carvajal still injured, de la Fuente has chosen to leave out Raúl Asencio.

Sources close to the Federation have admitted to MB the reason for the absence of the Canary Islands center-back. It has more to do with his indictment in the case of the distribution of the sexual video than with his current playing form.

Íñigo Martínez is also not on the list, whom de la Fuente considers the best center-back in Spain. The pressure exerted in recent days by influential Madrid-based media has been decisive in his absence.

The main news is Isco's return to the national team. Also Gavi's, even though after his injury he has not managed to reach his previous level.

6 from Barça, a lot of Masia and little Fábrica

Barça is the most represented team, with six players. From Real Madrid only Dean Huijsen is present, although he has not yet worn Real Madrid's jersey.

The list highlights the presence of a footballer trained at La Fábrica (Morata) and three who came from La Masia. Mingueza, Cucurella, and Grimaldo join Cubarsí, Gavi, Fermín, Lamine, and Olmo.

Florentino Pérez intends to end this situation and restore Madridist presence to the national team. To do so, he has agreed with Xabi Alonso on a strategy that will allow the maximum number of talents caused by the white youth academy to reach the first team.
