They reveal the figures of the mega contract Vinícius Júnior is demanding to stay at Madrid.

The Brazilian demands to earn the same as his teammate Kylian Mbappé in order not to leave Santiago Bernabéu

Florentino Pérez didn't expect that, as of today, he still wouldn't have the new contract for Vinícius Júnior signed. Until not long ago, there was a full agreement for the renewal of his contract, which ends in 2027, but everything fell apart in a completely unexpected way. Overnight, the Brazilian broke the agreement and raised his demands, asking for much more money to Madrid's surprise.

Vinícius Júnior requests a mega contract

To continue at Real Madrid, what Vinícius has requested is clear: he wants to be on the same level as Kylian Mbappé. Not only in image and importance, but also in terms of salary.

In this regard, "El Debate" has revealed that the Brazilian forward has requested a net salary of €20 million ($21.5 million) per season. In total, what he is demanding is a contract for the next five years, earning a total of €100 million ($107.5 million) tax-free.

If he earns this, he would be on the same level as Mbappé, which would mean a gross expense of €40 million ($43 million) per season for the Brazilian. Adding both, Real Madrid would have to pay out €80 million ($86 million) annually for each of its stars.

Negative strategy

Vinícius Júnior's situation with Real Madrid is starting to stir things up in the capital. The winger, one of the team's main references, is pushing for a salary increase by using the growing interest from Saudi Arabia as leverage. Although he has a contract until 2027, the player's entourage wants him to be recognized with a salary at the level of other global stars

In Madrid, they recall that these kinds of standoffs usually don't end well with Florentino Pérez. Cristiano Ronaldo tried something similar at the time and ended up being transferred to Juventus. Sergio Ramos also used media pressure and ended up leaving as a free agent, heading to PSG. In both cases, the club prioritized its economic model and the principle of not giving in to individual demands.

In Barcelona, meanwhile, they are closely watching how the Vinícius case develops, as he has been essential in Real Madrid's recent successes. His imbalance, speed, and offensive leadership have made him one of the best in the world, but also a figure with increasing influence off the field.

Real Madrid values Vinícius, but it's also clear that no one is above the badge. Recent history proves it: those who play with fire in the offices of Valdebebas usually get burned. The standoff is underway, but at Bernabéu, they already know how to respond.
