Siro López uncovers what lies behind the refereeing errors: 'They take a toll on Madrid'

Siro López calls the referees 'crooks' and has something for Florentino: 'they're making Real Madrid pay the price'

Journalist Siro López is clear about it. Refereeing errors don't happen just because.  They are the referees' reply to an old disagreement with Real Madrid.

Siro López's Criticism of Florentino Pérez

Siro López spoke on Tiempo de Juego. Furthermore, besides calling the referees "crooks", he also had words for Florentino Pérez, responsible for the content on Real Madrid TV.

Siro López has expressed his disagreement with the editorial line of Real Madrid TV. In his opinion, it only manages to anger the referees, making them biased against the white team.

What happened in Cornellà, Siro López frames it as what could be the reply to the white club's videos.

It's no secret that referees feel pressured by the videos broadcasted by Florentino Pérez's TV. They also understand that it's a way to predispose them when, before a match, they are openly accused of being a public danger and anti-Madridists.

Real Madrid TV's Tactic

That has been so far Real Madrid TV's tactic, a channel in which he himself collaborates. But in his opinion, it's an erroneous strategy that can backfire on the club as happened this Saturday.

Juanma Castaño raised the issue on El Tertulión del Partidazo de la COPE. "There are people who think that referees are against Real Madrid," Castaño said last night.

And Siro replied: "There are people who think that most of them are crooks." And having said this, he added:

"What happened yesterday, which everyone saw, wasn't seen by the one on the field and the one upstairs.

No matter how gullible you want to be, I have to think there's a group that are crooks."

He then referred to the controversial Real Madrid videos that have Florentino Pérez's blessing. Despite this, Siro is against the systematic harassment of referees. He explains his reasons:

"Madrid is being paid back for the videos. And because, besides being crooks, some are vindictive, I already said that Madrid shouldn't make those videos, because they've been paying the price for a long time."
