Roncero says what many think about Arda Guler's future at Real Madrid

Roncero also points out the need for Real Madrid to sign a midfielder immediately

Neither the victory against Pachuca (3-1) nor the promising start in the Club World Cup have served to calm Tomás Roncero's spirits. The most media-savvy Madridist journalist has once again raised his voice in his usual column to demand an urgent signing from Florentino Pérez. Roncero makes it clear that Real Madrid still isn't complete for the new season.

Roncero, in his usual style, doesn't beat around the bush: "We have the best, yes. But something's missing. If this player doesn't arrive, we could regret it in March," he warned with a serious expression.

Although he didn't mention any names, everyone knows who he's referring to.

The journalist points directly to the midfield, since in attack Xabi Alonso opts for the 4-4-2. One of the three usual forwards will be left out.

The ghost of injuries

Another of Roncero's arguments has to do with the team's medical history. "Last year we survived with Bellingham scoring goals, but if he gets injured or his level drops, who's going to take on that role? Rodrygo?" he asks.

The pressure from influential voices like Roncero isn't coincidental or anecdotal. In previous seasons, similar messages preceded important market moves. The journalist has a direct line with sectors of the club and usually acts as a thermometer for the most demanding Madridists.

The market hasn't closed

"If a midfielder doesn't arrive, we're going to have a problem all season," Tomás Roncero has said.

As of today, "the best midfielder at Real Madrid is Modric. He's the star at Real Madrid. The thing is, it's coming to an end."

After missing out on Florian Wirth, Roncero is demanding solutions for the midfield. The aim is to avoid a repeat of the battered defense that was experienced last season due to injuries.

Roncero has said it loud and clear. The message has been sent. Now the ball is in Florentino Pérez's court and Madridists are waiting for moves.

Güler, better as a substitute

Meanwhile, Roncero has taken a stance on Arda Güler, whom he doesn't see in Real Madrid's starting eleven. "Güler, when he starts, isn't as good as when he comes on as a substitute," he said on SER.

Roncero's opinion is shared by a large part of Madridists, who consider Güler more lethal when he comes on in the final minutes.
