Regretful - Florentino Pérez Studies His Return to Real Madrid: Ancelotti Agrees

A Real Madrid youth academy player is being closely analyzed for his great performance outside Spain.

Real Madrid has faced a very challenging season due to injuries. The defensive area has shortcomings and a center-back is needed to strengthen the position. Many names have been mentioned in recent weeks, but it seems that Florentino Pérez is considering a surprise return that no one expected: that of the youth player Mario Gila, 24 years old.

Mario Gila left Real Madrid in 2022 for six million, retaining 50% of his rights. He is now playing for Lazio, where he is performing excellently, being key for his coach and a starter in 13 consecutive Serie A matches.

AS has discovered that Mario Gila's performance "hasn't gone unnoticed" at Real Madrid. Florentino Pérez is closely monitoring him and is considering his return. The price is already close to 30 million euros, with the club having the option to bring him back by paying half. A center-back is necessary and the youth player is liked and convincing, although it's true that he's not the only option.

Real Madrid, to bring back Mario Gila, would need to reach an agreement with Lazio. Of those almost 30 million he currently costs, Florentino Pérez would only have to pay half. It's a bargain and he's being closely followed.

Florentino Pérez: Two Transfers Finalized in 2025

Real Madrid, under Florentino Pérez's management, is already beginning to outline its strategy for the next season. Sports planning remains an absolute priority for the president, known for his ambitious moves in the transfer market. In this regard, a journalist very close to the president's circle has drawn attention by sharing information pointing to two new additions for the club in 2025.

Real Madrid's management seeks to maintain its competitiveness on all fronts, especially after a season marked by absences in defense. The absence of key players has forced the management to rethink its strategy, especially on the flanks. Florentino Pérez wants to strengthen two essential positions with elite players, and these moves not only aim to consolidate the defense but also to offer attacking options from the wings.

It was journalist José Manuel Moreno who confirmed the transfers through his account on the social network X. With a strong message, he posted: "Confirmed, Alexander Arnold and Alphonso Davies will be Real Madrid players on July 1, 2025". Both players, considered among the best in their respective positions, will join the club after their contracts with their current teams end.

Alongside them, on Florentino Pérez's table would also be the name of a Mario Gila who would be delighted to return to his beloved Real Madrid.
