Raúl Asencio, out of the national team and with no place at Madrid: 'Huijsen, rüdiger and...'

Real Madrid faces a deep transformation in its defense that will set the course for the team

International breaks usually come at the worst times for clubs. Now, with the Club World Cup just around the corner, Real Madrid's internationals are traveling to fulfill their commitments. However, Raúl Asencio is not among them.

Not drafted, to surprise and relief

Luis de la Fuente has left Asencio out of the latest Spain squad. This has surprised more than a few, since Asencio has been a starter at Real Madrid during this season.

In a press conference, the coach explained that "the four center backs we have are the best in LaLiga." This is a clear slight toward Asencio, who once again suffers from the Federation's lack of recognition for a Madrid player.

For the white club, this absence may be a relief. Asencio will be able to rest and prepare for the world tournament that will take place this June.

More competition at Madrid

However, the bad news for Asencio doesn't end here. At Real Madrid, he is seeing his role reduced. The arrival of new center backs will mean he gets fewer minutes on the field.

The young Huijsen, who comes from the youth academy, promises to put up a fight and earn a spot on the team. To make matters worse, the signing of Antonio Rüdiger for the defense makes Asencio's situation even more complicated. With a consolidated Rüdiger and an emerging Huijsen, the current starting center back sees his prominence reduced.

Tactical changes with the arrival of Xabi Alonso

Xabi Alonso, the new first team coach, is ready to make tactical changes that will also affect Asencio. Dani Carvajal, the usual right back, will be converted to a center back to strengthen the defense. This means extra competition for Raúl Asencio.

In addition, Joan Martínez, another promising player from the youth academy, will join the first team. His addition threatens to take even more minutes from him in the rotation. Raúl Asencio will have to fight hard to keep his place.

An uncertain future

With the national team out and internal competition growing tougher, Raúl Asencio faces a challenging period. His prominence at Real Madrid is in question, and the lack of support from the Federation doesn't help.

The Club World Cup is coming and, despite the rest, the defender will have to work hard to keep his place at the club. The future demands effort, adaptation, and perseverance from him.
