Radical Shift at Real Madrid: Xabi Alonso Isn't Coming and There's a New Plan for Ancelotti

Florentino won't pay a euro for Xabi Alonso nor does he intend to allow Ancelotti to leave through the back door

There is uncertainty at Real Madrid regarding the Bernabéu's bench.

Many had already assumed that Xabi Alonso would take over the white bench next season. But Josep Pedrerol has thrown cold water on that possibility. According to the journalist from El Chiringuito, "Florentino Pérez doesn't see it as clearly as it seems".

"Florentino Won't Pay a Euro for Xabi Alonso"

Pedrerol firmly states that the white president won't pay the 15 million euros that Bayer Leverkusen demands to release the Basque coach. "Florentino won't pay a euro", he has declared.

Meanwhile, from Germany, they assure that the white club will have to dig deep into their pockets if they want to secure Xabi Alonso's services. The coach has led Leverkusen to a historic season and has a contract until 2026. The success of the German team has made his release clause not exactly low, complicating his departure.

But Madrid is not in a hurry.  Carlo Ancelotti's continuity is still on the table. If the Italian coach wins LaLiga and the Copa del Rey, the club won't make a move and Ancelotti will stay for another year.

A New Role Tailored for Carlo Ancelotti

If the results don't come, Florentino would try to retain Ancelotti at the club. He would offer him an institutional role as a presidential advisor in sports matters. An elegant exit for a coach who has left a mark on the club.

Meanwhile, in Valdebebas, they are already working on the planning for the next season, with or without Ancelotti. The Xabi Alonso case is not closed, and everything will depend on the outcome of the upcoming matches. In Madrid, they don't improvise, but they also don't pay at any cost.

What Florentino Pérez won't do is allow Ancelotti to leave through the back door. He has an offer from Brazil, but he might end up accepting Florentino Pérez's proposal.

The results will dictate the verdict, but it seems clear that the white club won't pay a euro for the arrival of a new coach. No one rules out that Ancelotti might stay.
