Official! it's Álvaro Carreras's fault, he's leaving for Napoli: 'Real Madrid wins...'

Madrid secures significant income thanks to the sale of a player discarded by Xabi Alonso

Real Madrid had the chance to bring him back, but decided to decline it. Florentino Pérez has rejected the return of academy graduate Miguel Gutiérrez to Santiago Bernabéu, having given the green light to his permanent transfer to Napoli. He did so by declining the buy-back option that existed in the contract of his initial sale to Girona, and pocketing a juicy million-euro sum for his departure.

Miguel Gutiérrez goes to Napoli

In the last few hours, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is a full agreement between Girona and Napoli for this transfer. In total, the Italians will pay €18 million (about $19.7 million) to secure the Spanish left-back. To this amount, another €2 million (about $2.2 million) in add-ons will have to be added, which could be met over the next few years.

Miguel Gutiérrez has everything finalized to leave immediately for Italy, with a contract for the next five seasons. This way, he will join the ranks of the latest Serie A champion, having the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

Real Madrid gets...

Speaking about this move on his X account, well-known journalist Ramón Álvarez de Mon has revealed that Real Madrid will receive "50% of the capital gain". This means that, having rejected the return of Miguel Gutiérrez, the white team will get between €6.5 and €7.5 million (about $7.1 and $8.2 million) in total.

The main reason for declining his return is the fierce competition at left-back. At Valdebebas, they fully trust Fran García and Álvaro Carreras, two young players developed at La Fábrica who are already part of the first team. In addition, Ferland Mendy, despite rumors of a departure, has no intention of leaving.

With three clear options for the left side, Miguel Gutiérrez had no place. In Madrid, they believe his progress has been remarkable, but not enough to displace those already in the first-team dynamic. The bet has been made, and the club doesn't want to hinder Carreras's growth or cut off Fran García's development.

This way, Miguel Gutiérrez leaves for Italy, to Napoli, in search of playing time and prominence. Real Madrid wishes him luck, but the message is clear: his cycle at the white club is over. At times, his possible return was seriously considered, but it was declined because there were options considered better.
