Real Madrid has reactivated all operations it had underway after its return from the United States. Florentino Pérez continues to plan the squad for next season, but in recent hours he has made a surprising decision. This is a move that seemed about to be finalized with Qatar and that has ended up falling through due to a difference described as "insurmountable."
Broken agreement with Qatar
For some time, it was taken for granted that academy product Lorenzo Aguado would leave for Qatar. The footballer's agent has been presenting Real Madrid with significant proposals for his departure from Castilla. Everything seemed set for him to move on, but in the end, Florentino Pérez wasn't convinced by a key detail.

The Qatari team met the financial requirements, according to MARCA, but there was a key difference. Madrid was asking for 100% of the footballer's rights and not just 50%, as was being proposed from there. The deal couldn't move forward, to the point that it has definitively fallen through.
Right now, it seems that Lorenzo Aguado is set to continue in Spain. Although he would like to continue his career with a top-flight team, he appears willing to accept a proposal from a second division side if he is offered an important role.
Lorenzo Aguado won't stay at Madrid
Lorenzo Aguado doesn't have a place in Real Madrid's new project. At 22 years old, the right back developed at La Fábrica finds himself in a delicate situation. Although his contract runs until 2026, neither Arbeloa at Castilla nor Xabi Alonso in the first team are counting on him for next season. Everything suggests that his departure is only a matter of time.
Last season, Aguado played 26 matches, accumulating more than 1,800 minutes of playing time. His statistical record wasn't particularly outstanding: 1 goal and 1 assist. However, his commitment and physical ability allowed him to be a regular part of the rotation during the first half of the campaign. Even so, in the final stretch he lost prominence, which ultimately affected his immediate future.
The club values his professionalism and training at Valdebebas... but they believe that he doesn't have a place in a squad that will feature established names at right back and other academy players who are making strong progress. That's why the offices are already working on a sale, as has been done with other talents from the white academy in the past.
Several second division clubs have shown interest in his services, although no decision has been made yet. Aguado's priority is to keep growing as a footballer, whether at Real Madrid or elsewhere.
Lorenzo Aguado's situation is another example of the high level of demand at Valdebebas. Training at La Fábrica doesn't guarantee success, and the young right back seems destined to seek new opportunities away from Bernabéu.
