The former goalkeeper doesn't hold back and analyzes the difficult moment Rodrygo Goes is experiencing

Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso didn't convince in its debut, drawing 1-1 against Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup. After having finished last season at a low level and even having had some time off, Rodrygo Goes started. He did so amid transfer rumors, with several English clubs interested in signing him. However, his performance wasn't good, raising many doubts and, once again, criticism among Madridist fans.

Speaking on "COPE" about the Brazilian winger's performance, a former footballer of the stature of Santi Cañizares didn't hold back. He was clear and blunt about it, stating: "I don't understand it."

We've talked, we've shared things, and now we're going to put it into practice. I see him eager to enjoy himself, to contribute, and above all to enjoy his quality," the new Real Madrid coach said.

Rodrygo Goes looks set to stay at Real Madrid

Once again, the Brazilian has been surrounded by transfer rumors this summer. Last season he seemed close to Manchester City, and this time several voices are linking him with Arsenal.

What Real Madrid is clear about is that Rodrygo Goes isn't untransferable. If he asks to leave, the doors will be open, but it won't be for a low price. Madrid-Barcelona has learned that the idea would be to get about 100 million euros for his transfer. At the moment, this option seems distant, but no scenario should be ruled out because the summer will be very long...
