New blow for Sergio Ramos: 'First Lamine Yamal and now...'

The footballer is going through some difficult days amid controversies, disappointments, and unexpected changes

Sergio Ramos is not going through his best moment. The historic Spanish defender, accustomed to lifting trophies and leading teams, has faced several setbacks in just a few days.

Everything started with a hint from Lamine Yamal after the Clásico, and what seemed like a simple anecdote has ended in a storm of disappointments. Among social media, elimination in Mexico, and changes on the bench, Ramos is at the center of attention.

Lamine Yamal takes its toll

Lamine Yamal, at just 16 years old, delivered the first blow. After Barça's victory against Madrid in Montjuïc, Lamine Yamal posted photos of the match with a phrase full of meaning: "Mm, Ryan vaccinated (give this one a like too😜)".

Although for many it was just a joke, others quickly understood the reference. Ramos and Jude Bellingham had liked a post by Bastoni (Inter) days earlier, mocking Barça after their elimination in the Champions League.

Lamine didn't forget and returned it with elegance and wit. Social media exploded, and Ramos was exposed to the new generation.

Blow in the Mexican Clausura

Far from Europe, Ramos also finds no peace. His team was eliminated from the Clausura Tournament in Mexico, a goal that seemed achievable just a few weeks ago.

The center-back was signed as an international star, with the mission of strengthening the defense and providing leadership. But the results have not followed.

Neither his hierarchy nor his experience have served to avoid a disappointing outcome. The elimination has left a tense atmosphere and many doubts about the immediate future of the project. As a visible figure, Ramos is once again the target of criticism.

Demichelis, out of the bench

The last blow came from the bench. The management decided to dismiss Martín Demichelis after a negative streak that exhausted everyone's patience. The Argentine couldn't redirect the team, and his departure was a matter of time.

Although no direct friction with Ramos has been reported, the departure of a coach is always an earthquake within the locker room. Even more so when the team is not performing and the focus is on both the players and the coaching staff.

End of an era or just a rough patch?

With all this, many wonder if we are witnessing the decline of Sergio Ramos as a relevant figure in soccer. Accustomed to shining on big nights, he now lives a different stage: quieter, more difficult, less heroic.

But Ramos is Ramos, if he has shown anything in his career, it is that he never gives up. Although this series of setbacks hits hard, it remains to be seen if he will use these difficulties as fuel or if the wear is already too much. Time, and the field, will provide the answer.
