Neither Sergio Ramos nor Laporte: Edu Aguirre's Surprise Plus a Request to Real Madrid

The contributor at El Chiringuito opts for an unexpected option to cover Militão's absence.

Edu Aguirre has surprised everyone with his latest appearance on El Chiringuito. In the midst of rumors about a possible return of Sergio Ramos to Real Madrid, the journalist is positive that he's not the best possible option. He considers him too old to return for just seven months and at 37 years old. He believes that it could be for the worst. In this sense, he's clear about what the best possible option is: going after the youth team.

"Sergio Ramos is such a great legend that I don't think he deserves to come to Real Madrid for just seven months. If Ramos signs for Madrid, he would have to be 25 years old and have a long-term contract. What I'm getting at is that I'm a bit in the opinion that his legend can only get worse," said Edu Aguirre on El Chiringuito.

In this regard, Edu Aguirre added: "I would like him to come but I think that Real Madrid has to focus on the future; what it needs is the youth system. There are very good kids like Asencio or Jacobo Ramón."

Finally, he concluded: "I'd bet on the youth team. Otherwise, I'd bet on the wallet, but the wallet is empty. If you ask me, I bet on the youth team. We don't need a 37-year-old, we need young players, from the youth team, who can stay 6-7 years at a high level."

El Chiringuito Puts a Price on Sergio Ramos's Competition

In this same program on El Chiringuito, Edu Aguirre's colleague, José Álvarez, has revealed the price of Florentino's favorite center-back.

The president has been looking at several possible transfers, but he seems to have a clear idea of who his target will be: Aymeric Laporte. At 30 years old, he's dying to return to Spain and has even reportedly given his approval for such a move to take place.

"He has an agreement to leave for a lower price than he should have, in theory. Aymeric Laporte cost 30 million and I'm told he could leave in the winter transfer market for 10-12 million, or even for free in June," said José Álvarez.

Aymeric Laporte's contract with Al-Nassr remains enforceable until 2026. However, it seems that he has a clause available to allow him to leave. What's clear about the Spanish international is that he is willing to take a significant reduction in his current salary to play for Real Madrid. Florentino has started the first contacts and everything will depend on his final price.
