Official at Madrid: He Won’t Play in the World Cup and Leaves Before Lucas Vázquez

One of Madrid's players will play his last match at Bernabéu before embarking on a new path in LaLiga

New stage for Real Madrid, the technical management has decided to bet on Xabi Alonso as the new first team coach. The tolosarra, a club legend and current revelation coach in Europe, will debut on the white bench during the next Club World Cup. It will be his introduction before facing a demanding season.

With his arrival, a new era begins, the squad will undergo some changes, and not everyone will continue in this new stage. While signings are being prepared, other players will close their cycle. One of them is Jesús Vallejo.

The farewell of a forgotten player

Jesús Vallejo will say goodbye to Real Madrid this Saturday. He will not wait for the World Cup nor seek a last-minute renewal. The Aragonese center-back will bid farewell against Real Sociedad at Bernabéu, after a period marked by loans and little continuity.

Jesús Vallejo arrived in 2015 at just 18 years old, after shining at Zaragoza. The club bet on him, but time has shown that he did not find his place in the squad. He spent more years on loan than being an active part of the first team: Frankfurt, Wolverhampton, Granada…

A testimonial return

Jesús Vallejo recently returned to play after more than 200 days without minutes. It was in the match against Mallorca, where he even provided an assist. This performance, combined with the lack of available players, allowed him to start against Sevilla, it had been more than three years since he started with Madrid.

Despite the effort and professionalism, his fate was already written. The club did not offer him a renewal, and he has not been considered for the Club World Cup. Everything points to the young Dean Huijsen taking his place starting June 1.

A future away from Bernabéu

Jesús Vallejo says goodbye with only 34 official matches wearing Madrid's jersey. A modest record compared to the eight years he has belonged to the club. In total, he accumulated 2,038 minutes and, nevertheless, has 13 titles in his record.

The center-back is now looking for a destination where he can have continuity. Several LaLiga teams have shown interest in him, and Rayo Vallecano seems the best positioned. He needs to regain sensations and confidence, something that is only achieved with minutes.

Madrid bids him farewell with respect, he never raised his voice, he was always a professional. But the club's demands are relentless. He leaves without the World Cup, without renewal, and even before other veterans like Lucas Vázquez, such is elite soccer.
