Madrid Beats Sevilla and Florentino Negotiates a Surprise Transfer: Help for Lucas

The president takes advantage of the match to negotiate a necessary transfer in Santiago Bernabéu box.

Madrid's put on a truly impressive performance against Sevilla and ended up securing an important 3 points in the fight for LaLiga. The Santiago Bernabéu witnessed a great match between two clubs that always compete at the highest level against each other. What was seen on the field ended up being reflected on the scoreboard, but it seems the protagonist was found in the stadium's box: Florentino Pérez.

Taking advantage of Sevilla's visit, Florentino negotiated a transfer considered necessary for Real Madrid. We're talking about Juanlu Sánchez, the starting right-back for the Andalusians, who contributed by assisting in their only goal. The Spanish defender performed at a high level despite his team's defeat, being one of the standout players on the Andalusian side.

Florentino Pérez took the opportunity to follow him really closely and talked about his transfer. The possible arrival of Juanlu Sánchez would be important to help Lucas. The Spaniard is very alone on the right side of Santiago Bernabéu and needs a partner to allow him to rest. It's yet to be seen if it will be the Sevilla defender, who, at 21 years old, could have a cost exceeding 20 million euros.

Madrid Beats Sevilla Decisively: a Rout at Bernabéu

Beyond whether Juanlu Sánchez's possible arrival at Madrid happens or not, the reality is that  Bernabéu experienced a great match against Sevilla. From the very beginning, Ancelotti's team started dominating the match, taking the lead 10 minutes in with a strike from Mbappé. If Kylian scored from outside the box, his teammate Fede Valverde also did so in the 20th minute with an unstoppable shot.

Before the first half ended, Rodrygo Goes contributed with his own goal, while Isaac added the consolation goal (along with a later one from Lukebakio). Shortly after the second half began, Madrid's rout continued with a great goal from Brahim Díaz, always present and available for Carlo Ancelotti.

Madrid took full advantage of Barça's recent defeat, finishing 2024 in second place in LaLiga. They do so with 40 points in 18 matches, two more than the culers with one less match played. Meanwhile, the winter leader is Atlético, with 41 points.
