José Félix Díaz Confirmed It! Neither Budimir nor Joselu: Real Madrid Has Its ‘9’

Xabi Alonso has requested a 'target man' striker, and José Félix Díaz has revealed the name of the 'number 9' chosen by Florentino Pérez

Real Madrid has become the main protagonist of the transfer market. Since Xabi Alonso arrived on the bench, it has started to move quickly to secure the major targets on its list. So far, two signings have already been confirmed, a third is about to be finalized, and there's the option to go for a fourth.

But that's not all, as in recent weeks the rumor has gained traction that Xabi Alonso has requested another center forward. In this regard, what the Basque would ask for is a top-class number 9, tall and strong in the air. Names like Budimir (Osasuna) or Joselu (Al-Gharafa) have come up, but José Félix Díaz has revealed what the real plans are.

Neither Budimir nor Joselu: Real Madrid's number 9 is Endrick

Speaking on Rubén Martín's Twitch channel, journalist José Félix Díaz was clear about it. "I'd be surprised if they signed a center forward when they have Endrick," he said. Regarding the Osasuna striker, he couldn't have been clearer: "He's not an option. I don't see it for now."

Even though his first season in Europe hasn't been easy, there's full trust in Endrick at Real Madrid. The young Brazilian killer, who joined the club after a €72 million investment from Palmeiras, is considered a solid bet for both the present and the future. His numbers in his first year are modest, with 847 minutes played, 7 goals, and 1 assist, but the board and coaching staff see it as a year of adaptation.

Xabi Alonso has already made a decision: there won't be any signings to strengthen the attack. Endrick will be Kylian Mbappé's natural backup and will have opportunities to keep growing in an ideal environment, surrounded by stars and with time to mature his soccer. Nobody at the club doubts his talent or his mentality.

The trust is absolute. At 18 years old, Endrick has already shown in Brazil what he's capable of. Now he's expected to shine at Santiago Bernabéu. There's no rush, but expectations are very high. Real Madrid not only isn't considering his departure, but sees him as a key piece in the medium- and long-term project.
