Rumors have spread during the last few days linking Cristiano Ronaldo heading to PSG, and Fabrizio Romano quickly addressed them. The Italian journalist is an "authority" when it comes to the transfer market and wanted to be clear on this matter. Despite his contract ending next June 30, there are no negotiations to secure his move to Ligue 1.
"PSG is not in talks to sign Cristiano Ronaldo despite the reports. Discussions are not even taking place now," published Fabrizio Romano on X.
The reality is that in the French capital, they have no intention of acquiring Cristiano Ronaldo, even though he can now negotiate his departure from Saudi Arabia. His recent statements attacking Ligue 1 didn't sit well, and they don't intend to sign him. Next February, he will turn 40, and his next goal is to surpass the 1,000-goal mark.
Cristiano Ronaldo: Harsh Attack on PSG and Ligue 1
Last week, at the Globe Soccer Awards gala, Cristiano Ronaldo lashed out at those who criticized him for playing in Arabia. In this regard, the Portuguese star compared the country's league to France's Ligue 1, indicating that the level is similar since they only have PSG there.
"I have been heavily criticized for deciding to go play in Arabia. I invite them to come play here. The Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. I'm not saying it because I play there. I don't care what people say, but they should go and play there to run at 38, 39, 40 degrees, and run a few times to see how they do," stated Cristiano Ronaldo.
"In France, there's only PSG. The rest are done. I don't care what they say. France only has PSG. The others compete, okay, but PSG is the strongest. No one competes with them. They have better players, more money. That's not a lie. I don't understand people's surprise," he concluded.
