Journalist Jordi Évole has sparked major controversy following his statements about Vinícius Júnior on the podcast "A las Bravas," hosted by Raúl Pérez.
In that conversation, he expressed the antipathy Vinícius generates in him, hiding behind his words Barça's badge.
"He has two newscasts left at Real Madrid"
During the conversation, Évole expressed his discontent with the behavior of Real Madrid's footballer, stating that "he has two newscasts left at Bernabéu."
Évole, known for his direct and critical style, commented that the club's president, Florentino Pérez, is tired of the Brazilian's attitudes.
"Uncle Floren is already fed up with Vini and his nonsense," the journalist added. He also rejected being associated with the nickname "follonero" for adopting behaviors similar to those he displayed in his previous television stage.
"How can he be so stupid?"
"How can it be that a great footballer is so stupid on the soccer field?" Évole questioned. He also lamented the forward's lack of maturity during matches.
According to him, Vinícius's entourage hasn't known how to handle his mental and emotional development, which has affected his performance and behavior on the field.
The journalist also pointed out that many Real Madrid fans are divided regarding the footballer: "I know so many Madridists fed up with Vinícius and who've enjoyed Vinícius, because he's unbelievable. Someone should p ... "
He would like to interview him
Despite the criticism, Évole acknowledged the Brazilian's talent and admitted that he'd be a great interviewee: "He'd make for a great interview. Let's see ... "
These statements have caused all kinds of reactions on social media and in the Spanish soccer environment. While some support Évole's criticism, others believe the journalist has been too harsh with the footballer.
Many remind him of unethical and unsportsmanlike situations involving Barça that he has never reported as a journalist. There are plenty of examples.
The truth is that Vinícius Júnior remains a controversial figure both on and off the field. His performances will continue to be the subject of analysis and debate. He leaves no one indifferent.
