El Chiringuito may face a significant loss ahead of next season. Pedrerol is aware that a collaborator as important as Guti could leave the ship, but he wouldn't do so to join another show. In recent days, the former footballer has received a "very important" offer to return to coaching, a position he hasn't held for five years.
Guti hints at his departure from El Chiringuito
During the show, Guti revealed that he has an offer to return to coaching, which could lead to his departure from El Chiringuito. "For now, no, I can't say anything. You know it, Pedrerol, there have been moves. There will be time to say it. It surprised me and I liked it," he stated.
In this regard, El Chiringuito host Josep Pedrerol provided more details: "He got it 3 days ago. It's from a very important team, to coach them. But I can't say which one it is."
The Catalan journalist didn't stop there, adding: "I've disagreed a bit with you, I disagree with your decision: about what would be good for you to do, accept or not. I'm glad you got the offer from such an important club. I'm happy for you, you deserve it."
Guti hasn't coached since 2020
José María Gutiérrez, known as Guti, began his coaching career in the Real Madrid youth academy during the 2013/14 season, leading the under-12 team. In the 2016/17 campaign, in charge of the Juvenil A, he achieved a national double by winning the league and the Copa del Rey juvenil.

In July 2018, Guti took on the role of assistant coach at Beşiktaş. Later, in November 2019, he was appointed head coach of UD Almería in the Spanish Second Division. During his tenure, the team recorded nine wins, five draws, and seven losses in 21 matches. However, after a home defeat to Alcorcón, he was dismissed in June 2020, leaving the team in the promotion play-off spots.
Since then, Guti hasn't managed any team. In 2023, his name was mentioned as a possible candidate to coach the Argentine club San Lorenzo, following a recommendation from player Iker Muniain. Despite his recent inactivity, his experience in developing young talent and his knowledge of soccer could open new opportunities for him in the future.
