The world of Spanish soccer is marked by a series of controversies and disputes that go beyond the matches themselves. Gonzalo Miró, a regular contributor to Radio MARCA, made a strong statement about the case of FC Barcelona and the payments to Enríquez Negreira, former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees. His opinion has sparked great debate in Spanish soccer.
The Negreira Case: Should Barcelona Be Relegated?
During his appearance on El Partidazo de COPE, Gonzalo Miró did not hesitate to express his opinion on the scandal involving FC Barcelona in the so-called "Negreira Case."

According to the former footballer, the payments of 1.4 million euros ($1.4 million) to the former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees, Enríquez Negreira, are enough to justify a drastic sanction for the Barça club. Miró opined that, with the information available so far, Barcelona could be punished with relegation to Primera RFEF.
"To avoid being suspicious, I am one of those who think that, with what is known about the Negreira Case, there are enough arguments to relegate FC Barcelona to Primera RFEF," he stated. With this, he made it clear that he had no intention of protecting any club, but rather of applying the law impartially. This statement has caused a great debate on social media and among fans, who do not agree on the magnitude of the sanction that should be applied.
Real Madrid and Their Referee Pressures
In addition to the Barcelona issue, Gonzalo Miró also dedicated part of his intervention to analyzing Real Madrid's stance regarding referees. According to him, the white club has been the main driver of a pressure campaign on referees in Spanish soccer. Miró pointed out that, through the media it controls, such as Real Madrid Television, the club has launched constant messages questioning the impartiality of the referees.
"What Real Madrid does with the referees seems outrageous to me," commented Miró. He referred to the statements that came to light after the press conference of referee De Burgos Bengoechea, ahead of the Copa del Rey final.
In the press conference, the referee explained controversial decisions that affected Madrid, which caused criticism from the management.
The Reasons for the Pressure
Gonzalo Miró explained that Real Madrid's attitude is due to several reasons. First, he highlighted the club's intention to pressure referees so that their future decisions favor the team's interests.
"One, to pressure the referees. Two, to justify their defeats. Three, to tarnish LaLiga's image with the aim of seeking the soccer Super League," he detailed.
