Florentino Pérez makes a decision: first signing completed for Real Madrid, €9M

He has stood out a lot and is considered a key signing for the next season: it's a bargain for Real Madrid.

Florentino Pérez is planning the squad for next season at Real Madrid. The Real Madrid president doesn't want to waste time and intends to move quickly to try to get everything wrapped up swiftly. In this regard, Madrid-Barcelona has learned that he has already decided on his first signing:  Nico Paz, from Como. The youth player will return after a great year in Italy, and he will do so at a bargain price:  9 million euros (9.7 million dollars).

Nico Paz's arrival has a clear reason: Florentino doesn't want to lose control over the young footballer in the coming years. After his great season at Como, many teams are willing to pay money to take him, but this would mean losing him at Real Madrid. There is no intention of losing him, and the president has moved quickly for this.

In the summer, Nico Paz left Real Madrid for 6 million euros (6.5 million dollars), but his value has multiplied at Como. Florentino Pérez will exercise the buyback option in his contract, valued at 9 million. The plan is for him to return and have space in the first team, although it will also depend on the departures that occur during the coming summer at Bernabéu.

Nico Paz's condition to return to Real Madrid

He is only 20 years old and is standing out at Como, where he is getting minutes at the highest level, something he values very positively.

This is precisely what Paz demands to return to Real Madrid. Not to be systematically benched. He understands that he doesn't have the status of other teammates, but if he returns, what he wants are minutes. He is at a point in his career where he needs to play regularly, something he is doing in Italy.

Nico Paz has become a key player in Como's ranks. He has played 21 matches so far this season, starting in most of them. He has scored five goals and provided three assists, being highly valued by his coach, former Spanish footballer Cesc Fàbregas.

Nico Paz is clear: if he returns to Madrid, he doesn't want his upward trajectory to come to a complete stop. At his age, he needs minutes and is not sure he will get them by returning. Florentino Pérez knows everything and is aware of his desire. He hopes that, in a few months, he will already be wearing the jersey of his beloved Real Madrid.
