Florentino Has Promised It: Jackpot for Madrid's Players in Champions League

Florentino Pérez Responds to the Criticism Received After the First Leg of the Champions League Against Arsenal

The Real Madrid Women's Team finally enters a  new dimension. In a competitive stage where they are already close to fighting for titles.

The nightmare came to an end with the hard-fought and brilliant victory of Toril's girls in Montjuïc against the unbeatable Barça. The final 1-3 score reflects not only that the distances between both teams have shortened but that they no longer exist.

Change of Direction in Spanish Women's Soccer

Real Madrid didn't win any title in Montjuïc, it was just a battle. But a historic battle that could change the direction of women's soccer in Spain.

Tomorrow, Toril's girls play at Fly Emirates in London to capitalize on the 2-0 advantage achieved in the first leg. It's the quarter-finals of the Champions League. If successful, it will be the first time that the Real Madrid Women's Team reaches the semi-finals of the tournament.

That is already serious. Florentino Pérez was asked by his players about the possibility of playing Champions League matches at Bernabéu. Like Barça does at Camp Nou and Montjuïc or Arsenal itself in tomorrow's match.

Florentino Wants to Reward His Players

Florentino's response was that when they win a title, they will consider that possibility. In Barcelona, no title was won, but the League was tightened, and Florentino Pérez is delighted with the progress of his girls.

He has already communicated to Alberto Toril that there will be a reward for the first clásico won. The club will consider the possibility of playing the semi-final against Olympique de Lyon at Bernabéu. But first, they have to eliminate Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

The first leg was already controversial and caused many criticisms from England, and also in Spain. Real Madrid boasts of having the best stadium in the world, which also has a retractable roof, but it was not offered to their players.

Arsenal complained about the venue, the Di Stéfano stadium. The match was played under the rain and in a real quagmire. In Spain, voices emerged accusing the Madrid board of undervaluing their women's team.

Florentino Pérez wants to reverse the situation. His players already deserve to play in the best stadium in the world and the club is considering using Bernabéu for the Champions League semi-finals if they eliminate Arsenal tomorrow.
