Unexpected move from Lisbon, according to Fichajes.net. Benfica is strongly pursuing two Real Madrid discards: Dani Ceballos and Fran García. The Portuguese club wants to strengthen its squad with Spanish talent and has already started talks to acquire both players this summer.
The operation is well-regarded by the leadership of the white club, which doesn't consider either footballer as key pieces in Xabi Alonso's new project. In fact, both have lost prominence this season, and the coaching staff believes their departure would free up salary mass and space in the squad.

Ceballos, without a place in the new Real Madrid
Dani Ceballos has been one of the major casualties of the growth of Madrid's midfield. With the emergence of Bellingham, the consolidation of Camavinga and Valverde, and the past presence of Kroos and Modric, the player from Utrera has been relegated to a very secondary role.
Benfica sees him as an ideal player to take the helm in the midfield and would be willing to match his current salary. Real Madrid wouldn't put too many obstacles in his way and would be willing to let him go for about 10 million euros.

Fran García, without trust and halfway out
Something similar happens with Fran García. He arrived as a future prospect but hasn't convinced either Ancelotti or the club's environment. His performance has been well below what was desired, and the sports management is already working on his departure.
Benfica needs to strengthen the left-back position and believes Fran García could regain his best form in the Portuguese league. The operation would be around 7-8 million, a figure that Real Madrid sees favorably to make cash.
A great deal for Florentino

In total, the white club could earn between 15 and 20 million euros for two players who aren't in the future plans. Florentino Pérez values Benfica's proposal positively, which has already proven on other occasions to be a good showcase for players with potential.
These 15 or 20 million would help reduce the final price of Álvaro Carreras, which Benfica has set at 50 million. In other words, the operation could cost 30-35 million.
Additionally, Xabi Alonso has given the green light to the double operation, already focused on shaping his squad for the 2025/26 season.
