Guti's anticipated reaction to Vinícius Júnior's backheel: 'Don't...'

The former Real Madrid footballer speaks out after Vinícius's latest masterpiece: he has emulated him

Vinícius Júnior became the main protagonist in Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Salzburg. The Brazilian forward scored the first goal of the match and then set up the next one for Fede Valverde. He did it with a magical move, reminiscent of Guti's famous backheel to Benzema at Riazor. Interestingly, the former footballer closely followed the play, since he was commentating on the match for DAZN.

"I was saying, you have to hit it first time, but I didn't expect he was going to do that. He sees Fede Valverde very well and leaves it practically on a plate for him," Guti said on DAZN.

This backheel quickly became a trending topic on social media. Guti's figure went viral again thanks to Vinícius Júnior, with many fans recalling the famous play with Benzema.

Vinícius gets his smile back

After scoring and assisting, Vinícius Júnior appeared in the mixed zone to answer journalists' questions.

As expected, he was asked about his great assist, and his answer left no one indifferent. "It was a good assist, one of the most beautiful I've given in this jersey. I hope I can keep going like this and that the team can play like this because that's the most important thing. I haven't seen Guti's video, but everyone told me about it when the play ended in a goal," the Brazilian replied.

Speaking about other matters, he clearly referred to his contract renewal with Madrid: "I hope I can stay here for many years, I've always said it's the club of my life. I'm very happy with the coach and the technical staff and I hope I can keep going here."

Finally, Vinícius Júnior concluded: "Yes, I  have two years left on my contract, until 2027. I've always said I have to stay here my whole career and make a great story with this team."
