End of the Line for Asencio: The New Cubarsí of Real Madrid Will Not be Him

Ancelotti's plans don't include Asencio, who will pack his bags this summer in search of a new destination.

Carlo Ancelotti has been honest with Raúl Asencio. He's encouraged him to keep working as he has, but he's also warned him that there won't be a final reward.

Ancelotti turned to Asencio out of wingere necessity. The long-term injury of David Alaba was joined by those of Carvajal, Militão, and Tchouaméni in the same period.

From Snow White to Cinderella

He had to look to the youth academy. There he found Asencio, who performed wonderfully in the matches where he was needed by the Italian coach.

He left a particularly good impression in his Anfield test, which he passed with flying colors. However, Tchouaméni returned and that's where the dream ended. Asencio became Cinderella again.

Now, in addition, David Alaba is about to return. This means that, if the Austrian responds well, Ancelotti won't need to experiment with Tchouaméni to cover the center-back position.

Ancelotti warned Asencio that he didn't see him as a center-back. If he used him again, it would be in the right-back rotations, which Carvajal has left vacant until next season.

Asencio's Market Value Has Skyrocketed

Asencio is already thinking about packing his bags. This year his market value has gone from 300,000 to 7 million euros, which means he can aspire to join a Spanish First Division club or a major European team.

What is certain is that the Asencio boom has ended, not only because of the expected recoveries of Militão and Carvajal this summer. There is also the fact that a player who Ancelotti really likes is going to return.

It's another youth player, Joan Martínez, from Valencia and 17 years old. He has stolen the Italian coach's heart last summer when he was given the opportunity to play for Real Madrid on the North American tour.

In Valdebebas, he's known as the new Sergio Ramos due to the great resemblance he shows to the Sevillian when he arrived at Real Madrid.

Joan Martínez is poised to be the future center-back at Real Madrid. Asencio knows it. Real Madrid continues to work on building its team for the coming seasons, and the center-back position is one of the long-term priorities.

Although Raúl Asencio has come to compete for that position, all eyes within Valdebebas seem to be focused on Joan Martínez.

The New Sergio Ramos Takes Over from Asencio

Despite his young age, his ability to read the game, his impeccable positioning, and his strength in aerial duels have highlighted him as a leader in the defense.

Additionally, he has great skill in playing out from the back. Something that fits perfectly with the play style Carlo Ancelotti seeks to implement in the first team.

Asencio knows it's very difficult for him to succeed at Real Madrid, even though Ancelotti gave him a taste of success during six matches. The dream has ended for him. Now Joan Martínez's begins.

The young white prospect hopes to be ready by the end of April so that Ancelotti might give him a chance to play during May. That is his hope.
