Eduardo Inda confirms Gonzalo García's big news: 'He has a clause of...'

The club makes a key decision about one of its greatest prospects after his breakout this preseason

Real Madrid keeps making moves this summer. With Xabi Alonso in charge and a new season on the horizon, Florentino Pérez's club is clear that there are still key decisions to be made. One of them has a name: Gonzalo García.

Eduardo Inda, through OK Diario, has confirmed what had already been discussed in the halls of Valdebebas. The homegrown player will remain linked to the club for many more years. It won't be just any contract.

Golden renewal

According to Iván Martín, a journalist from OK Diario, Gonzalo has a contract until 2027. However, Real Madrid is already working on a renewal that would tie him to the club until 2031, but that's not all.

The club plans to significantly increase his release clause, which is currently set at €50 million. The goal is clear: to prevent teams from Europe and from La Liga itself from tempting him with ambitious projects.

In addition, his salary will be notably improved, reaching the level of a first-team player. It is estimated that he will earn about €1.5 million net per season.

A striker with star numbers

Gonzalo García is not just another prospect. He is, for many, a reality. Last season, he was the top scorer in the Spanish Tercera División. His numbers say it all: 25 goals and 4 assists in 36 matches with Castilla. He didn't just shine at home.

During the last Under-21 Club World Cup held in the United States, he was an undisputed figure. He scored five goals that took Real Madrid to the semifinals of the tournament. That's where many clubs started to take notice.

Getafe was close

Ángel Torres, president of Getafe, made it clear a few weeks ago:

"We have an agreement with Gonzalo that, if he doesn't stay at Real Madrid, he'll come to Getafe."

The interest was real, the agreement as well, but Real Madrid didn't want to lose him. At this moment, everything points to him continuing under Xabi Alonso's orders. Only a drastic change in sports planning could open the exit door for him.

The future has arrived

Real Madrid wants to build a strong team not only with superstar signings, but also with homegrown talent. Gonzalo García is one of those cases. A young striker, with a nose for goal and a hunger to succeed at Santiago Bernabéu.

Eduardo Inda confirmed it: his renewal is on track, his clause will grow, and his role will become increasingly important. Valdebebas has a gem and this time, Florentino won't let it get away.
