Edu Aguirre says what many think about Lamine Yamal and the Ballon d'Or

The journalist from El Chiringuito explains why Barça's player has no chance of winning the Ballon d'Or

Edu Aguirre has spoken his mind from the United States with a sharp retort to Barça's media circle. The same group that's demanding the Ballon d'Or for Lamine Yamal.

The popular Madridist journalist argues that Lamine Yamal hasn't earned the Ballon d'Or. He says that Mbappé and two of his Barça teammates deserve it more. He also doesn't forget about Dembélé.

"The winner should be Dembélé"

Edu Aguirre is bothered by the insistence on leaving Kylian Mbappé out of the running for the next Ballon d'Or. He points out that the argument is lack of titles. If that's what matters, Edu Aguirre is clear: the winner should be Ousmane Dembélé, something that would really sting at Barça.

This is how Edu Aguirre explained himself last night on El Chiringuito:

"The argument from the Culers for why Mbappé shouldn't win the Ballon d'Or is that he hasn't won titles.

OK, let's talk about titles. Dembélé has more titles than Lamine (Lamine), right?

So, what are you talking about? You say we're trying to force Mbappé into the conversation.

Here, by the numbers, Lamine started to shine in March. Raphinha and Lewandowski have had much better seasons in terms of numbers.

If Raphinha were Spanish, from La Masia, and 17 years old, you'd all be demanding the Ballon d'Or for Raphinha."

Mbappé is well positioned to win the Ballon d'Or

Edu Aguirre argues that things are being greatly exaggerated with Lamine Yamal and that his candidacy, with questionable merits, isn't supported by his titles or his numbers.

The journalist sees in this pro-Lamine campaign a desire to assert La Masia's superiority over the rest.

But at Real Madrid they're calm. If Mbappé wins the Club World Cup with Real Madrid, let's see who dares to deny him the Ballon d'Or. The Frenchman came to Real Madrid to win the Ballon d'Or, and he's well positioned to achieve it.

The Champions League will have to wait. Not for long. The sixteenth title awaits the white team.
