Edu Aguirre Dismantles Barça's Euphoria After the 4-4: 'it's a Weak Team'

Edu Aguirre's verdict: 'Flick's players are mentally weak'

Edu Aguirre Gave FC Barcelona a Review Last Night after their four-all draw at home against Atlético. The panelist from El Chiringuito doesn't understand how it can be said that Barça played well after conceding four goals at home.

Barça Wins Battles, but Not Wars

Aguirre suggested that this Barça is good for winning battles because it has excellent players, but it hasn't quite found the winning mentality that, for example, Real Madrid has. And the point is to win wars in the form of titles.

He doesn't see Barça as consistent heading into the decisive part of the season, where Real Madrid always appears.

This is how he explained it during his appearance on El Chiringuito:

"Barça is what it is, this Barça is what it is this season, an inconsistent team. Offensively, it has a lot, Lamine Yamal is great, Pedri is doing very well... That's how it is.

"Barça Has a Weak Mentality"

But it has a weak mentality. You can't say that Barcelona played well. Barça conceded four at home.

If I concede four at home, I would never say my team played well. Did they attack well at times? Yes.

But if in a semifinal they concede four at the Bernabéu, I'm the coach, and the next day at training, I lock them in the locker room and give them a tremendous scolding.

It's the inconsistency of Barcelona. They are very good, very talented players, but mentally weak in important moments.

And Flick has to correct many things in the defense."

Carrasco: "We Scored 4 and 5 Against Madrid."

Edu Aguirre: "Yes, at one point, and Madrid has won 6 Champions and Barça has made a fool of itself in Europe. 0 Champions for Barça and 6 for Madrid in recent years.

If we talk about a winning mentality in recent years, Madrid is far ahead of Barça. Barça fell apart against Atlético."

A full-fledged dialectical review. Flick's Barça has to improve a lot if it wants to compete for titles.
