Real Madrid surprised everyone yesterday by announcing that Kylian Mbappé had been hospitalized due to a case of acute gastroenteritis. The Frenchman missed the first match of the World Cup, which ended in a 1-1 draw against Al-Hilal. In recent hours, Mbappé has already returned to the team hotel and Edu Aguirre has provided, on "El Chiringuito", the latest update on his health status.
"Ruled out for Pachuca"
Edu Aguirre commented: "Mbappé was signing autographs, then he couldn't go out to train and last night he was admitted to the hospital. He had acute gastroenteritis, I'm told he was in very bad shape. He spent about 12-20 hours in the hospital, this morning he arrived at the hotel."
In this regard, he added: "They gave him a lot of IV fluids. He's ruled out for Sunday (against Pachuca). We'll see when he recovers. I've been talking to a doctor and he tells me, to be at 100%, about 10 days need to pass."

Mbappé wants to make it to Salzburg
With him ruled out against Pachuca, what Kylian Mbappé is certain about is that he doesn't want to miss the entire group stage of the World Cup. Madrid-Barcelona has learned that the forward is working to be in good condition for the match against Salzburg.
As of today, the Austrian team is the group leader of Real Madrid. The Whites drew in their debut, while they beat Pachuca. It's still to be seen how things will stand by the last matchday, but Mbappé is clear that, even if he's not in top physical condition, he wants to help his teammates.
In the first match of the World Cup, academy graduate Gonzalo García took his place, performing at a high level and being the only one to score. But the plan is clear: if Mbappé shows good signs in his recovery, he'll be a starter as soon as he's available.
Mbappé, top scorer of Real Madrid
No one doubts Mbappé's abilities at Real Madrid. Xabi Alonso is certain that he's the best player in the world and considers him the cornerstone of his project. He doesn't plan to rush him, but if the Frenchman and the medical staff give the green light, he'll play as soon as he can.

This past season he became Spain's top scorer, with 31 goals in 34 matches. This earned him the European Golden Boot, having surpassed other great scorers like Gyökeres or Salah.
No one doubts his abilities and Mbappé is expected to return very soon. Real Madrid needs him...
