Official and Confirmed: Florentino Presents his German Star Coming from Wolfsburg

Real Madrid immediately adds an unexpected transfer from the Bundesliga

Florentino Pérez's transfers aren't limited to the sports field. He also brings in superstars for the day-to-day management of the club.

The proof is the confirmation of the transfer of the former president of German Wolfsburg. His name is Francisco García Sanz, and for nine years he managed the destiny of Wolfsburg.

26 Years Leading Real Madrid

The confirmation that there won't be elections at Real Madrid due to the absence of candidates guarantees the continuity of Florentino Pérez at least until 2029. In other words, Florentino could become the president of Real Madrid for 26 years.

In the new board of directors that is preparing to manage Real Madrid for the next four years, there are important developments.

First, there is Manuel Redondo, director of the presidence cabinet and the Real Madrid Foundation, and José Ángel Sánchez, general director. Both have been promoted to the rank of executives while retaining their functions at the club, according to newspaper Marca.

Only One Woman in Florentino Pérez's New Board

Manuel Gómez Barrera, head of the supporters' clubs department, is also joining Florentino Pérez's new board of directors.

José Luis del Valle will be the new secretary of the board. Enrique Sánchez and Enrique Pérez have been promoted to vice presidents, at the same level as Eduardo Fernández de Blas and Pedro López Jiménez.

Catalina Miñarro will remain the only woman on the Board, which will be composed of 18 executives.

A High-profile Transfer with Extensive German Experience

However, the most important development is the arrival of Francisco García Sanz, who presided over German Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga for nine years. García Sanz, as Marca also points out, was part of the commission created by the CSD to oversee the management of the Spanish Football Federation.

Florentino's new addition is an honorary doctor in Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Stuttgart. He worked for 15 years at General Motors, and then spent another 17 years at the Volkswagen Group.

Florentino has aimed to form a compact board that allows him to successfully face the upcoming challenges of Real Madrid during his next term.
