Deal Closed! Fabrizio Romano Announces Zubimendi’s Decision: ‘He Will Play in…’

Fabrizio Romano has revealed which will be Martín Zubimendi's next team: they will pay his release clause

Martín Zubimendi will change teams next season and has already decided what his next destination will be. Despite being strongly linked to Real Madrid, Fabrizio Romano has announced that he will head to Arsenal, which will pay his release clause. There is a total agreement for him to become a new gunner footballer. The next step will be to deposit 60 million euros into Real Sociedad's accounts.

After he rejected to leave Real Sociedad on several occasions, Zubimendi, who was linked to Madrid, has now decided to head to the Premier League. He has thought it over a lot, but he will become Arsenal's first signing for the 2025-26 season, with these being his last matches playing in Spain.

Florentino Had Many Doubts About Zubimendi: Free Path for Arsenal

Real Madrid has let go of one of the most sought-after midfielders in the market: Martín Zubimendi. The Real Sociedad footballer was a direct request from Xabi Alonso, the new white coach starting next season. However, despite having the Basque coach's endorsement, the white club has decided not to move forward with his signing.

According to Madrid-Barcelona, doubts about his fit in the scheme and his high price: 60 million euros, corresponding to his release clause, have made Florentino Pérez and the sports management come to a complete halt. In Valdebebas, they didn't quite see him as the perfect replacement for Toni Kroos or Luka Modric, which ultimately was decisive in not activating his arrival.

The indecision of Real Madrid has been key for Arsenal to take the lead and go all out for the player. The London club has already communicated its intention to pay the clause and finalize his incorporation as soon as possible, as discovered by Romano. Thus, the white team has missed an opportunity for which their future coach had strongly advocated. Zubimendi will be a gunner and not a white.

The priority is to strengthen the defensive line, where all efforts of Real Madrid will be focused.
