Juanma Rodríguez, one of the leading journalists for Real Madrid at El Chiringuito, has found similarities between Carlo Ancelotti and Xavi Hernández.
He believes that the Real Madrid coach is committing same sins that Xavi Hernández committed last season. He can't get his players to do better than they already do.
This is what he explained in El Chiringuito, directed and hosted by Josep Pedrerol:
"The one who's planned this season is the same one who's won six European Cups in the last 10 years.
"I say this because we may be talking too soon. However, the fact is that Madrid is not working, its' not, it's not..."
"Carlo Ancelotti Resembles Xavi Hernández"
"They are physically in bad shape, thee defend poorly, their attacks is even worse… I am frankly worried.
"Last year we said that when a coach has all the players worse than they actually are, we would aim at Xavi Hernández. Now following the same argument, we can't ignore Carlo Ancelotti.
"Last year we said—and it was true—that with just one move Barça goes from one coach to another. Then it turns out that Flick has all players doing much better than what Xavi Hernández achieved last year. Now I understand why people inevitably point the finger at Carlo Ancelotti.
"He's also been promising us for two and a half months that he has found the key. It's clear that he hasn't succeeded.
It's like the airplane pilot who doesn't know how to fly and touches all the buttons to see if any of them work.
"Madrid is now a completely disoriented plane that we don't know where it will land. The only positive reading that can be made is that I think we've hit rock bottom. There are many things to consider.
There are footballers who will wither away and end up saying "Why did I come here"? We don't have Toni Kroos and Luka Modric is 40 years old but there still are players who can do it."
"Real Madrid's Sin of Arrogance"
"I was surprised that he brought Dani Ceballos on against Milan. He's a player he doesn't provide consistency, which is what he's looking for, or at least the closest thing to that.
"Arda Güler, Endrick… give them fifteen minutes, let them breathe a little. Maybe Endrick will score goals and start winning games for us.
"Obviously, what we have now is not enough.
"Above all this there's a sin of which I am the first to admit. We have all committed a sin of arrogance. Today in soccer you can't win without getting off their high horse.
If only nine or eight defend… we're not doing well."
