Carlo Ancelotti Informs Florentino Before Madrid-Athletic: 'I'm Leaving...'

Carlo Ancelotti has an offer and is going to accept it: he will leave the way clear for Real Madrid to change coaches

Florentino has received confirmation shortly before the Real Madrid-Athletic LaLiga match began.  Ancelotti has made the decision to leave his position at the end of the season, giving the green light to the search for a new manager. The Athletic has discovered that he has a proposal from the Brazil national team on the table and has decided to accept it, staying in the position, at least, until the 2026 World Cup.

Carlo Ancelotti Will Leave Real Madrid

Ancelotti understands that the atmosphere has become unbearable and the best thing for both sides is to cut ties before things end badly. Despite having a contract in effect until 2026, he will step aside to embark on a new adventure in Brazil, forgiving what he would have left to earn. At all times, he has been clear with Florentino and has assured him that it will not pose any problem for Madrid, the team of his affections.

The only request Carlo Ancelotti has conveyed to the president of Real Madrid is to let him finish the season, with the League and Cup still in contention. He has Florentino's word that this is what will happen, but he has also made it clear that, in the Club World Cup, there will be another coach on the bench. This means that as soon as the domestic competition ends, the Italian will pack his bags to go to Brazil.

Florentino Has to Dig Deep

Even though Carlo Ancelotti will leave the position early without asking for any compensation, replacing him will not be cheap. The chosen one is none other than Xabi Alonso, whose price is high and will have to be negotiated with Bayer Leverkusen, where he has a contract in effect.

In Sky Germany they assure that Leverkusen wants to receive between 15 and 20 million euros for letting Xabi Alonso leave. There have not yet been conversations between both teams, but no problems are expected. The Germans are already moving in anticipation of their coach's possible departure, exploring the market in search of a replacement who can succeed him.

In this regard, Xabi Alonso only has two options on the table: to go to Real Madrid or to stay at Bayer Leverkusen. If he chooses the latter, he is clear that he would not renew his contract, leaving at its conclusion in 2026.

Having personally confirmed to Florentino Pérez that he will step aside, the next thing for Real Madrid is to finalize the arrival of his replacement. Nothing official is expected until the coming weeks, unless the situation becomes even more complicated with more poor results.
