Do you have young children? The United States can pay you $725 every month

A new opportunity for financial assistance for families with young children that could change everything

The reality for many families in the United States is harsh, especially when there are young children involved. Child poverty remains a serious problem, which is why a program was created to provide financial support to those who need it most.

What is the FFESP program?

The "Family First" Economic Support Pilot Program (FFESP) was created to support families with young children facing poverty. It is especially focused on certain areas of Sacramento County.

This is an initiative of United Way California Capital Region together with the Sacramento County Department of Child, Family and Adult Services.

This program not only offers a monthly payment of $725 to ease the financial burden. It also provides financial counseling, support groups, and connections with local community organizations. The goal is to accompany families so they can improve their quality of life in several aspects, not just financially.

Who can receive these payments?

To be eligible for FFESP, there are several requirements that must be met. First, the applicant must live in one of the specific zip codes within Sacramento County: 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828, or 95838.

In addition, the program is aimed at parents or legal guardians who care for children between 0 and 5 years old. It is necessary for the child to live with the applicant at least half the time.

An important point is that household income must not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL). This is calculated by adding all gross income before taxes. Also, families can't be receiving other guaranteed payments, whether from government or private programs.

How to apply and what dates should you keep in mind?

The deadline to apply for this support already closed on April 27, 2025. Applications were submitted through the official site ffesp.org. Authorities are currently reviewing applications to determine who meets the requirements.

Those approved will receive $725 per month until July 15, 2026, a support that can change families' daily lives.

What else does FFESP offer?

In addition to the money, families who access FFESP can get personalized financial counseling. This helps organize resources better and plan for a more stable future.

There are also support groups and webinars so parents and guardians can share experiences and receive help. This creates a network that goes beyond money, fostering a safer and more supportive environment for children.
