Target’s Urgent Statement to its Customers in the United States: Be Very Careful

A security alert forces target to remove several products from its shelves in the United States

Recently, Target issued an urgent alert to its customers in the United States due to a product recall in some of its stores. The news has caused concern among consumers, as it involves a popular item sold under a well-known brand. Additionally, this situation has led to confusion, especially with the involvement of other major retail chains.

Target issued an urgent alert in the United States after finding out the presence of small stones in some chocolate bars of Tony’s Chocolonely brand. The recall of these products affects several batches that were distributed between February 7 and March 24, 2025. Despite the seriousness of the situation, no health incidents or injuries have been reported among consumers, providing some relief to the product's buyers.

Target clarifies what happened

In response to the complaints, Tony’s Chocolonely explained that the failure occurred during the almond harvesting and processing process. A third party involved in the supply chain did not perform adequate filtering, which allowed the stones to reach the chocolate bars.

The company has assured that the chances of a product being affected are low. However, they decided to recall the batches as a precautionary measure to ensure consumer safety.

The recalled chocolate batches include the Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar and Everything Bar. The batch codes and expiration dates of the affected products have been specified by the company. Consumers who have purchased these products should return them to the stores where they bought them for a full refund, or alternatively, dispose of them.

Meanwhile, Walmart has replied to the accusations and denied that its stores are involved in this recall. In a statement sent to The US Sun, the company assured that no problem related to these products has occurred on their shelves. This has served to reassure buyers from other chains, who should not worry about contaminated products in their establishments.

The affected batches are as follows:

  • Tony’s Chocolonely Everything Bar:

- Batch 4327, expiration 22-Nov-25

- Batch 4330, expiration 25-Nov-25

- Batch 4331, expiration 26-Nov-25

- Batch M4331, expiration 26-Nov-25

  • Tony’s Chocolonely Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt:

- Batch 163094, expiration 2-Apr-26

- Batch 162634, expiration 28-Feb-26

- Batch M162634, expiration 28-Feb-26

The recall of these products is a precautionary measure in collaboration with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). However, for now, no health damage to consumers has been reported.

It's Not the Only Alert Recently Issued

The recall of chocolate products is not the only incident related to the Target chain. An alert has also been issued for Good & Gather brand green bean cans, which were voluntarily recalled in 21 states in the United States.

This latest recall affects more than 197,000 cans due to unspecified concerns by the FDA. However, this recall has been classified as class II, which implies that the issues could cause temporary or reversible adverse health effects for consumers.

This series of incidents has put consumers on alert. They must be alert to product recalls and follow the authorities' instructions to avoid unnecessary risks.
