Goodbye to KFC in the United States: The True King of Chicken Opens 900 Stores

Church's Texas Chicken, the new rival of KFC, has global expansion plans, opening 900 restaurants in the coming years

The fast food world is always in constant motion, with new brands emerging to challenge the dominance of the big chains. In this scenario, a company is beginning to make a name for itself, with ambitious expansion plans and a recipe that promises to win over fried chicken lovers. Meanwhile, as the big firms fight to stay on top, a new wave of competitors in the United States is ready to start the battle.

KFC, the most well-known fried chicken chain in the United States, is about to face a new and formidable rival. Church's Texas Chicken, with its unique fried chicken recipe, has decided to take a big step toward expansion. This move not only seeks to expand its presence in America but also in Europe and other continents.

Church's Texas Chicken: The new rival of KFC

Church's Texas Chicken, known for its delicious fried chicken, is preparing to fully compete with KFC. With international expansion plans, the chain seeks to consolidate its presence both in America and Europe and beyond.

The brand has announced that it plans to open 900 new restaurants in the coming years, which puts fast food giants like KFC in check. This growth will be a real test of Church's ability to compete at the highest level. As competition in the fried chicken market intensifies, the brand's expansion strategy seems more than defined.

Europe will be a key market in these plans, as countries like France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom are already in the sights for future openings. Additionally, Church's plans to land in emerging markets such as Hungary, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Morocco, thus expanding its global presence. Roland Gonzalez, CEO of the chain, highlighted that the European region will play a crucial role in its expansion.

"We are seeing impressive growth both nationally and internationally," stated Gonzalez. According to the CEO, the rapid expansion is due to the growing demand for quality options that consumers are seeking in the European market. Church's is positioning itself as an affordable option without sacrificing taste or quality.

Eric Hanson, vice president of international development for the brand, commented that the chain has identified a great need for accessible and tasty fried chicken. "We want to fill that gap," expressed Hanson, emphasizing that offering high-quality products at competitive prices has been essential to their success. With the opening of 900 more restaurants, the company projects a 50% growth in its international presence over the next four years.

An expansion that will also be noticed in the United States

Market analysts are closely watching the impact this expansion will have on KFC and other major chains like Popeyes. Church's has begun to be compared to KFC, with many customers opining that its chicken is even better than the famous brand's. Within the United States, Texas has consolidated as the leading state, with 318 locations, followed by Georgia with 47.

Church's Texas Chicken's expansion coincides with a broader trend in the fast food industry. Several chains are accelerating their global expansion plans. Wendy's, for example, will open 1,000 new restaurants outside the United States in the next three years.

Also, Restaurant Brands International, which operates Burger King, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs, plans to open 9,000 new restaurants worldwide.

As more brands expand, the global fast food landscape continues to evolve. Church's Texas Chicken is laying the groundwork to challenge KFC and other giants, with a promise of delicious and accessible fried chicken worldwide.
