Tip-off: Fifth Consecutive Ballon d'Or for Barça. And It Won't Be Aitana or Alexia

Barça Places Four Players Among the Five Favorites This Season

For six years, France Football has been awarding the Ballon d'Or to the best female player in the world. Out of those six years, two Barça footballers, Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmatí, have dominated four of them.

For the current season, predictions about the next winner have already started circulating. Alexia Putellas seems to have advanced ahead of Aitana Bonmatí in the race after overcoming her serious injury. But the competition remains fierce, awaiting the resolution of the Champions League.

Barça aims to win their fourth Champions League after being present in the last six finals. The outcome of the semifinals against Chelsea and what happens in the final, should Barça reach it, will determine the final victory.

Barça's Sweep Last Season

Last year, Barça swept the Ballon d'Or. Aitana took the award, with Caroline Graham Hansen and Salma Paralluelo following behind. Barça's dominance is overwhelming.

Although Real Madrid has made history, this year Barça has already won the Super Cup. They are on the verge of reclaiming LaLiga and the Copa.

The main goal is Europe, because in Spain, Romeu's girls barely find resistance.

Goal is betting on Alexia Putellas again. It would be her third Ballon d'Or, but there's still much at stake. Barça would need to repeat last year's treble, including the Champions League.

Then comes the Euro Cup in Switzerland from July 2 to 27. New candidates may emerge there.

For now, Alexia is very well positioned, ahead, according to Goal, of Graham Hansen, Dumornay, Aitana, and Ewa Pajor. That is, four from Barça among the top five favorites today.

Mariona Caldentey could also enter, another Barça player, now at Arsenal, who crushed Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Graham Hansen's Time

Barça is poised to continue making history with another historic moment at the Ballon d'Or gala. Will the podium be one hundred percent blaugrana again?

Alexia is the favorite, but MB has learned that Graham Hansen could be the big surprise. Especially if she proves decisive in the semifinals and final of the Champions League, should they reach it.

Women's soccer owes her. If not the best, always on par with the best, but never sufficiently recognized.

It's her time. But it also depends on her.
