After 518 journalists from 111 countries voted, the winner was the American Simone Biles.
Simone Biles, winner of three Olympic gold medals and a silver in Paris 2024, received 703 votes to be the Best Female Athlete of the Year. At just 27 years old, she has 11 Olympic medals, with seven golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. Additionally, she's the most decorated U.S. Olympic gymnast of all time. These achievements have allowed her to surpass Aitana Bonmatí, who came in second.
Aitana Bonmatí was only surpassed by Simone Biles in this accolade. There was nothing she could do against her, with 337 votes compared to the American's 703. The podium was completed by Julien Alfred, with 263 points.
