Alejandro Balde is experiencing one of the best moments of his career. At just 21 years old, the left-back for FC Barcelona has established himself as one of the team's pillars.
However, in a recent interview on RAC1, Balde was self-critical and acknowledged that there are still aspects of his game he can improve. In his words, "I could do more" and he is clear about what he needs to work on to keep growing.
Constructive Self-Criticism: The Goal as an Objective
Despite being one of the most outstanding footballers in Barça this season, Balde is not satisfied. He has been a key player both in defense and attack, recording several assists. However, the full-back admitted that his goal-scoring ability is one of the areas to improve.

"I am a player who gets forward a lot and it's a goal I have, to score more goals," Balde explained. Although he already has eight or nine assists this season, he believes he can still contribute more offensively. To achieve this, he thinks he should "play a little more inside or shoot more."
Barça's Youngsters: A Team with a Lot of Future
FC Barcelona has a very young squad, with players like Balde, Lamine Yamal, and Gavi, who are not yet 20 years old. In his interview, Balde highlighted the importance of appreciating what these young players are achieving.
"We are very young. People don't realize what we are doing at 17, 18, or 19 years old," Balde commented. The footballer also explained that many are "spoiled" and expect immediate results from the youngest, as if what Lamine does were something usual.

However, Balde was clear: "That's not normal." This reflection puts into perspective how difficult it is for such young players to maintain such a high level in a competitive league.
The Champions League, A Real Possibility
Despite being a young team, Balde firmly believes that Barcelona has a chance to win the UEFA Champions League this season. "We are alive in all competitions," the full-back stated. His confidence is contagious, and he has no doubt that the team has what it takes to keep fighting for the European title.
Balde also expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of playing a Champions League final against Real Madrid. "It would be a very good final, it has never happened in history," he said.
Although he acknowledges the strength of teams like Bayern Munich, PSG, or Inter Milan, Barça's full-back was optimistic. "I'm sure we can have a beautiful Champions League," he concluded.
