Robert Lewandowski says no and Saudi Arabia demands revenge: 'For €80M we'll sign...'

The Polish forward stands by his decision and his future at Barça continues to generate excitement for everyone

When Robert Lewandowski landed in Barcelona in 2022, few bet on him. He was almost 34 years old and some doubted his ability to keep a competitive level, but the Pole showed that experience matters more than age. In three seasons, he has scored 32, 26, and 42 goals, including all competitions.

His impact goes beyond statistics. Lewandowski became a silent leader inside the locker room. His goals ease the team's pressure, allowing young players and teammates to develop without hurry. Barça not only gained goals with him, but also stability and confidence.

The maturity of a conscious veteran

At 37 years old and in the last season of his contract, Lewandowski has changed his role. He plays less, takes care of his body, and prioritizes his performance in key matches, but his ambition hasn't diminished. The 2025-26 season is a challenge: he wants to keep scoring goals and fighting for titles.

The Pole has a clear roadmap: enjoy soccer in Barcelona, leave his mark, and, if possible, end his time with important achievements. His decision shows maturity. He prefers quality moments over astronomical numbers that don't align with his sporting goals.

The millionaire temptation of Saudi Arabia

The offer arrived and it was monumental: €100 million (100 millones de euros) per season, plus incentives, a figure that few footballers could refuse. However, Lewandowski said no. He even rejected a similar proposal the previous summer. His goal is to compete, not just get paid.

His agent, Pini Zahavi, confirmed that the Polish striker prioritizes important titles. He wanted to play La Liga and the Champions League, and he remains focused on that. The refusal has surprised Saudi Arabia, which has made it clear that Lewandowski was on its list of international stars to sign.

Saudi Arabia looks for alternatives and the blaugrana future

The Arab country doesn't stop. Sources from the Investment Fund indicated that Lewandowski was on the list of Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr clubs. After his rejection, they set their sights on Darwin Núñez as an alternative. Negotiations were postponed, but the Saudis keep their interest.

For now, Lewandowski remains at Barça. His goal is a successful season, with goals and leadership. He knows he may play less than before, but his passion and ambition remain intact.

Saudi Arabia will have to wait. Barça keeps enjoying its star scorer. For €80 million (80 millones), maybe the future will be a different story, but today, the Pole says no.
