Julio Maldonado, Maldini, has shared his opinion on his Instagram channel about Marcus Rashford's signing by Barça.
He believes it's potentially a "good addition," he said, but he has doubts about his adaptation. In that regard, he sees the influence Hansi Flick may have on him as essential.
For Maldini, Rashford has had self-esteem issues in recent years. He will only perform as expected if the German coach is able to get one hundred percent out of him.
"Barça gets it right with Rashford"
He gives the examples of Raphinha and Lewandowski as players Flick has managed to revalue. Maldini warns that Barça play in a different way than Manchester United did during Rashford's best times. He sees him as a good reinforcement for Barça.
This is how he explained it:
"Will Marcus Rashford succeed at Barça? I think Barça, within the possibilities it had, gets it right with this arrival of Marcus Rashford.
Especially if we look at the final stretch of the season he's had, he's going to contribute a lot. Because of the investment and the possibilities of this player.
We've seen Flick bring players like Raphinha or Robert Lewandowski back to their highest level. Now he has another challenge, which is to do it with Marcus Rashford.
"Barça is not Manchester United"
Where Rashford performs best is on the left flank. It's his best position and where I've liked him much more. Especially in a Manchester United that for a very, very long time was a team that played into space and counterattacked very well.
That's not exactly Barça. Barça is a team that will dominate matches, but this is his position. The left flank, the dribbling he has, and from there into space he does a lot of damage.
It seems to me a good addition given the circumstances and we'll see if Flick is able to get one hundred percent out of him. If he manages to do it, it's a good addition. After seeing him at Aston Villa, if he feels comfortable, he's a player capable of doing very good things at Barça".
