There are comebacks and comebacks for culer Josep Pedrerol, the friend of President Pérez. Real Madrid's are welcome. Barça's hint at weakness.
The Difference between Real Madrid's Comebacks and Barça's
Josep Pedrerol has never reflected on Real Madrid's "epic" comebacks. Nor has he questioned a series of refereeing decisions that made them possible.
For Pedrerol, Real Madrid relies on epic moments to win from the 85th minute. He doesn't question what the white team did wrong in the previous 85 minutes. It's because Real Madrid never gives up and never gives in.
If Barça wins 5-4 in the 95th minute in Lisbon, Pedrerol doesn't like it. He wants to win 1-0. No epic, no commitment, no raising arms.
He never said that when Real Madrid won in the past at the buzzer. Then he did like it when Madrid solved a tie with three goals in the last ten minutes. That, moreover, gave him an audience.
Now It's Not Nice to Come Back
However, now that the comeback is Barça's, it's ugly. It's not nice to come back. What's clear is that it's not nice for the team of media faithful to Florentino, who were licking their lips yesterday with Barça's defeat in Lisbon.
Pedrerol says he's a culer, because it looks better to disguise a program of Madridist exaltation with a culer director-presenter... in name only.
But by their deeds you will know them. What you see night after night on El Chiringuito is nothing more than Florentino's NODO. Nothing further from being a culer.
This is how Josep Pedrerol explained his change of doctrine on El Chiringuito:
"Barça is a team that is not reliable. For Edu, overrated, due to the spectacular fall it had in LaLiga.
Pedrerol Has Principles, but if Florentino Doesn't Like Them...
We're talking about a team that has an irregularity that can become concerning. I enjoy watching Barça play, but I never know how it's going to end. In any way.
It's fine, it's beautiful football, but if the tie comes (?), I don't want to play 5-4 and come back. 1-0 and home. This is very nice for now, but if a semifinal comes I want to win and forget about comebacks".
Josep Pedrerol has principles. But if Don Florentino doesn't like them, he has others too.
